Welcome!

about me..gif

If you've made it here, chances are we share something in common—a love for sports and the stories that happen beyond the final score. I created Solis Digital Media in 2008 (formerly Genesis Design Studio) because I wanted to do more than take photographs. I wanted to document the moments, the people, and the communities that make Southern California sports special.

Whether I'm covering a Friday night football game, a CIF championship, the US Open of Surfing, or a local athlete chasing a dream, my goal has always been the same: tell the story honestly and respectfully.

More Than Just Photography

Photography is still at the heart of what I do, but it's only one part of the story. Over the years my work has grown to include written reporting, feature stories, interviews, and video coverage. Every assignment is another opportunity to preserve a piece of Southern California sports history.

How I Got Here

Before launching Solis Digital Media as an independent sports news publication, I spent nearly a decade covering entertainment, sports, and special events for PR Photos, one of the nation's leading entertainment photo agencies. That experience taught me far more than photography.

It taught me how to cover live events, work under deadline, write stories, caption and distribute images, and consistently produce editorial content for publication. As the media landscape evolved and traditional photo agencies gave way to digital-first publishing and social media, I realized I already had the experience to build something of my own.

Rather than simply creating another photography portfolio, I expanded Solis Digital Media into an independent publication focused on original reporting, photography, and video coverage of Southern California sports.

I haven't looked back since.

Teaching the Next Generation

Today, I have the privilege of teaching Film, Photography, and Sports Media at John Muir High School while continuing to cover sports independently through Solis Digital Media.
