As an photography teacher, capturing the memories of my graduating seniors is such an honor, and this year was no exception. I had the pleasure of working with Christina and Ilene, two incredibly bright and talented young women who are destined for great things. From the moment we started taking photos, I knew it was going to be a fun and memorable experience. They both had such positive energy and were so excited to commemorate this special moment in their lives. We laughed, chatted, and explored different poses and backdrops, all while capturing the essence of their personalities and achievements.
Christina is one of the very first students I met in-person during the COVID school year. Although it was my eigth year in teaching, it was my first at John Muir. Christina volunteered to take photos at our school sporting events that were brought back from the dead due to the pandemic.
She did a great job practicing what I taught her during the first semester of that year and afterwards, she joined my film club and the rest was history. Ilene is her best friend and both are inseperable. I had the privilege of meeting her just this year. She would often come with Christina to my classroom and studio to hang out so it was fitting that I adopted her as one of my own art students (Ilene was part of the school's business academy but no one needs to know). 😝
Furthermore, Ilene is taking her academic talents to UC Santa Barbara while Christina is heading East to Dickinson College. Best of luck to both and may God richly bless your academic journies ladies!
