Today I had the privledge of photographing the East Los Angeles Mens Basketball team at practice. The fellas and coaching staff have been working incredibly hard this summer, putting in countless hours of practice and training to prepare for the upcoming 2023-2024 season.
The Huskies "lost" some key talent from last year's team:
6'4 G Demetrius Calip II | Morehouse College (HBCU) in Atlanta
6' 5 G Corey Cofield II | Cal State Los Angeles
6' 11 PF/C Christian Oliver | Morgan St
6' 8 F JT Langston | Rider University
6' 2 Jon Sanders | Coastal Carolina
But this is what you want in your program, for your players to succeed and move on to the next level as well as to leaving a legacy.
As I watched the players go through their drills and scrimmages, I couldn't help but feel inspired by their work ethic and dedication. This year's team has high hopes for the upcoming season and is eager to make it back to the CCCAA Basketball Championships and eventually win it all.
I'm excited to see how the team performs. This will be my third season of covering the Huskies. With their talent and hard work, I have no doubt that they will achieve great things. Go HUSKIES!
