Chapman Spoils APU’s Cougar Stadium Return

Chapman spoiled Azusa Pacific’s return to its newly renovated Cougar Stadium, defeating the Cougars 26–3 on Saturday night. The Panthers controlled the ground game, piling up 276 rushing yards to APU’s 103. Chapman also outgained the Cougars 441–174 in total offense.

The game marked APU’s first football game at its on-campus stadium since Nov. 9, 2013, when the Cougars hosted Dixie State. Despite the loss, APU students and fans brought plenty of school spirit to a warm Saturday night in Azusa. The Cougars will look for their first league win next Saturday, Oct. 24, when they visit Pomona-Pitzer for a 7 p.m. kickoff.
