Muir Mustangs Softball Team Advances After Nail-Biting 8-7 Win Against Rio Hondo Prep

In Friday’s CIF-SS playoff opener, the host Muir Mustangs softball team held on for a tight 8-7 win over Rio Hondo Prep. Sophomore center fielder Raquel Paez made good on a sacrifice RBI fly to left field that scored junior Ginger Martinez for the winning run.
The Mustangs improved to 15-10 and now turn their attention to Santa Monica in the next round. The Vikings enter the matchup with a 13-10 record after edging Katella, 6-5, in their playoff opener.
